Frequently Asked Questions

Ready to get started…?

Use the form on the Contact Us page to schedule a meeting.

Process

There is no fee for our initial assessment.

Our initial meeting is typically no more than 15 minutes. During this session, we will gather basic information about your company to determine which tax incentive, business expense reduction programs you may qualify for as well as potential revenue gain opportunities. This can be done onsite, over the phone or via web conference…whichever best accommodates your schedule.

After the initial interview we will follow-up to get additional detail based on the service benefit opportunity. As an example, to determine how much revenue you could generate from paying your vendors virtually, we would just need a summary of your accounts payable spend sorted by supplier. In 3-5 business days we’ll get back to you with an estimate of the rebates you could earn.

Not at all. If you are satisfied with the current level of service of your credit card merchant processor, cell phone or business insurance or other service providers, continue with them. Use us to make sure you are not inadvertently being overcharged for any fees that don’t apply to your business.

Our expert team will continue to act on your behalf to make sure your new business service provider is billing you only for fees or line items that apply to your business. We provide peace of mind, month in and month out, so that you can focus on running your business.

Services

We focus on delivering expense reductions, specialized savings and tax incentives that you can apply to your business bottom line. Our team of business process consultants, engineers, intellectual property attorneys and expense auditors work together seamlessly to maximize your benefit.

Our team runs a multi-point expense analysis to identify overcharges and billing errors in key business expense areas such as credit card processing, document management, parcel shipping, waste & recycling, wireless and worker’s compensation premiums.

We can help you transform your Accounts Payable department into an additional revenue channel as well as track open class action settlement cases and notify you when we believe you may be eligible to participate in these settlements. Additionally, we can help you lower energy and healthcare cost as well as give hourly employees instant access to their earned wages.

Our team of tax specialists use proprietary software to identify local, state, and federal tax incentives available for your company. On average, for a small to mid-size company, we are able to identify over $200,000 in tax-based incentives.

Business expense reductions, revenue gain opportunities and tax incentives, we identify and recover on your behalf, require highly specialized expertise to maximize your benefit capture and to ensure any overcharges found are permanently removed.

As an example, twice a year, Visa and MasterCard update their fee structures which are referenced in documents that are several hundred pages. This is not an area that CPAs or CFOs are trained to work through.

Similarly, specialized tax incentives such as the R&D tax credit are extremely technical and backed by myriads of case law. CPAs do not have the time nor the knowledge to investigate, determine, procure and defend specialized tax incentives such as those in the Section 41 (“Research”) Credit.

For our cost-recovery services — expense reduction, specialized savings, and tax incentives — we are compensated based on a share of the savings identified. There is no charge for our assessment of your business expense reduction savings and tax incentive recapture opportunity. In effect we offer a free business diagnostic. If we don’t find any savings for your business you owe us nothing.

Our AI consulting services are different. Those are professional engagements, priced per project, and confirmed in writing before any work begins. We charge for them because they produce a system you own and continue to use, whether or not it results in recovered savings. See the AI Consulting questions below for details.

Results

In our experience 9 out of 10 companies can benefit from one or more of our services. Your savings level will depend on what our team determines when they evaluate selected areas of your business.

This depends on the service type.  Services that are recurring will continue to deliver savings as long as you are using those services.

Savings from recurring programs will be delivered on an ongoing basis, typically beginning within 3 weeks of our analysis of your business data and verification of benefit level.

Project savings are typically paid out within 30 days of confirmation of your total savings benefit and recovery from the underlying service provider or taxing authority..

### AI Consulting

#### [Do you sell AI consulting, or is it just a referral…?](#)

Both, and they are separate things. Our AI consulting practice is delivered by Thryft: we assess your operations, build the automation, and train your team. Separately, where dedicated compute is the right answer, we recommend an infrastructure provider and receive a referral fee if you sign up through our link. The consulting engagement stands on its own — you can take it and decline the infrastructure recommendation entirely.

#### [How is AI consulting priced, and why isn’t it contingency-based…?](#)

AI consulting is priced per engagement, confirmed in writing before work begins. We don’t publish a rate card — the number depends on the size of your business and the scope of the work, and a figure printed on a website would be wrong for almost everyone who read it. Tell us what you’re dealing with and we’ll quote it. It isn’t contingency-based because the deliverable is a working system that your business owns and keeps using — its value doesn’t depend on a measured saving, and we don’t want the recommendation shaped by what happens to be measurable. Cost-recovery services remain contingency-based and free to assess, exactly as before.

#### [Do I need to have AI already in my business…?](#)

No. Most clients who start with an AI Readiness Assessment have no AI deployment at all — usually a few tools bought by different departments and a suspicion that more could be done. The assessment is designed for that starting point.

#### [Will you recommend AI for everything…?](#)

No, and the assessment document includes the processes we recommend you leave alone. A good outcome is sometimes “buy a better tool,” sometimes “write a rule,” and sometimes “this is already handled correctly.” We would rather tell you that than sell a project that won’t return.

#### [How is our data handled…?](#)

Scope and handling are agreed in writing before any document or system is accessed. You are told what we will access, where it will be processed, how long it is retained, and how it is deleted. Nothing is connected or changed during an assessment — we work from sample documents and reports you choose to provide.

#### [Do we have to use your infrastructure partner…?](#)

No. If the right answer is a cloud platform you already have a committed spend agreement with, that is what we will recommend. The referral relationship does not determine the recommendation.

#### [What happens to the automation after you finish…?](#)

It becomes yours. Documentation and operator training are part of every build engagement, so your team can run, adjust, and extend the system without us. If you would rather we stayed involved, we offer ongoing support — but it is optional, not the default.
